Surfaces that take a season of guests, footfall and salt air.
Hotels, restaurants, boutiques and offices need finishes that look hand‑crafted and behave industrially. Microcement is one of the rare materials that does both — beautifully variable on the eye, ruthlessly tough underfoot.
Commercial microcement is hand‑applied 2–3mm mineral flooring and wall finish specified for hotels, restaurants, retail and offices — a hard‑wearing, joint‑free surface that takes heavy footfall while reading as a hand‑crafted plaster. Installed across Cornwall and the South West by Cornwall Microcement.
Commercial clients have different pressures: opening dates, brand colours, insurance requirements, footfall ratings. Cornwall Microcement works with architects, interior designers and venue owners across Cornwall to bring the CimentArt system into hospitality and retail interiors that need to look considered and last.
Designer collaboration
We are comfortable working from architectural drawings, providing technical specifications for tender packs, and producing project‑specific sample boards in the agreed colourway. RIBA‑stage paperwork available on request.
Phased installation
For working venues we schedule installation in phases — typically rotating through rooms over a series of out‑of‑hours visits — so the business never fully closes. We bring our own dust extraction and leave the space turn‑key.

Questions
Frequently asked.
Will it withstand commercial footfall?+
Yes. Specified correctly (denser base coat, harder‑wearing sealer, anti‑slip topcoat in wet zones), microcement performs comparably to terrazzo or polished concrete in high‑traffic commercial settings.
Can you match a brand colour?+
Yes — we can mix to a Pantone, RAL or NCS reference, with a physical sample panel for client sign‑off before installation begins.
How does it compare to polished concrete?+
Polished concrete is a structural slab finish — heavy, expensive to retrofit, and inflexible on colour. Microcement is an overlay, lighter, applied over almost any sound substrate, with full colour control and far more design flexibility.
Do you provide warranties?+
Yes. Commercial installations are accompanied by written workmanship warranties and a CimentArt product warranty, with a documented annual aftercare plan available.
